- We're located in Wilkesboro, NC, the home of MerleFest – one of America's largest bluegrass festivals.
- W. Kerr Scott Lake/Reservoir is the home to excellent fishing, mountain biking and boating. It just happens to be in our back yard. There are many, many camping opportunities at "the dam".
- Looking for a new disc golf course to play? Wilkes County is now "on the map" and offers 18 holes of FREE disc golf fun at the Highland Hills Disc Golf Course – OPENING JULY 10, 2010.
- The North Wilkesboro Speedway holds a place in history for being one of the first tracks of NASCAR. It is now being revitalized and races are being scheduled there. Driving schools and other fun opportunties are available as well.
- Chickenfest is another music festival held locally – in North Wilkesboro. It is put on by The Record of Wilkes (newspaper) and sponsored by Tyson.
- Singing in the Foothills (a Christian music festival) is held annually in Wilkesboro at the Wilkesboro Dragway in support of the Ebenezer Children's Home in North Wilkesboro, NC.
